| Fortunately it's made from some pretty soft metal. Measure the depth of the spacer and mark that off on a drill bit using some tape. Then proceed to bore a hole in the spacer until you're down to the tape on the bit. Use a big set of pipe pliers or something on the part of the spacer that sticks out and crush that bitch. Should come right out after that. 
All you have to do is be careful not drill at an angle and hit the crank and you'll be fine. If you still can't get it out, drill more holes. Hope it helps.
